25 weeks...

Ok... Here is an all pregnancy, all baby update and my probably singular belly shot.

I have been feeling ... fine. Yes, I'll stick with fine! I started out pretty sick but that lasted only half-way through first trimester of which I'm so thankful. Since then, I have been feeling great-more aches and pains than I remember but I guess that's what happens when you're on your second and older. I think most people generally enjoy 2nd trimester because it's when they feel the best, not so uncomfortable and not so sick. And you just are starting to show ... Me, that feeling is short-lived. About this time ... yes only midway through, I get highly uncomfortable already, tired, achy, short of breath ... Same thing happened when I was pregnant with Amelia. I think because I have like 2 inches of torso....

Although, I feel bigger than I should be right now... I am right on track and weight less than I did with Amelia at this time. I've been trying to watch that closely and not gain as much ... I know I'm going to look very pregnant, again, no torso, but I plan to keep my weight where it should be. and NO higher.

People ask me how it's different than last time ... my response- "uh, in EVERY way." I promise, I was 5 weeks along and I told James that this HAD to be a boy because things weren't just different but completely opposite. I've gained weight differently (in numbers and locations), I've been affected by completely different aliments than last... and from the start.

Something that has plagued my lately is clumsiness... BIG TIME. It's kinda weird for someone who is relatively coordinated and careful. I think I've broken something once a day... cups, lights, blenders... just from being clumsy. I've tripped and stumbled more in the last few months than my whole life. The things pregnancy does...

Amelia seems to be understanding what's going on... we will see when he actually gets here. She continually likes to talk to him and she carefully explains that she's Amelia and she's the big sister. She likes to pat my belly all the time. The other day she said as she was rubbing my bump, "Jack must be growing." She loves playing in his room with all the baby toys. I am looking forward to her actually interacting with him.

Things are looking good and we are excited to meet Jack in August. The c-section is scheduled for Aug 1st. And we are already most of the way done with his room. His closet is almost fully stocked... thanks to a good friend getting rid stuff. I will post pictures of his room when things are done. This feels like its been a long time coming. And amid growing discomfort, I am trying to soak up the "ease" of just our family of three for the next months before its thrown into chaos.

Park

I know, I know, I promised a pregnancy update... and I'll get to it. But we had a great day at the park yesterday and I couldn't help but show these pictures.
