Zoo Day!

It was the perfect morning for the zoo... overcast and not too hot! So we loaded up.

It's a lot harder to take pictures on my own with two kids, but I managed to get a few. I even got them to smile at the same time... now if I could get them to both look at the camera at the same time. Why is it the 4 year old that is the most difficult?

We were really excited to see the komodo dragon. And then we heard, because of possible rain, he wouldn't be out today. Oh well, another time.

The polar bear for Mom-Mom!

Amelia feeding the birds. It is such a fun exhibit. Jack even got his hands on one!

Always a good time at the zoo!

Our beautiful girl that's less than a month away from being 4!

Vacation

For our 5 year anniversary, James and I passed the kids to my parents for a week and headed to the beach.
It was my first trip to Gulf Shores and our first trip away since our honeymoon. It was much needed time away, relaxing, and being together. We didn't have much plans but that and had fun doing not much of anything.

We spent time every day here...

Coffee, mmm

Dinner on the water at Orange Beach.

My dinner view :)

Representing on the beach!

Kids did great and I'm not sure who wore who out... Here's what kept them busy:

On the way home we hit up a couple farmer's market and loaded up on some wonderful bounty... mostly peaches!

Since we were, of course, driving back through kentucky, we had to make a stop! We were able to spend a day and a half being spoiled at MM and DD's... boating, swimming, gaining weight via ice cream.

It was a wonderful break from the crazy and celebrate what God has given us. So grateful for these 5 years of marriage. We have been richly blessed. Here's to many, many more!

Double Digits!

TEN

I chose this picture because it fully captures what our little man is up to most of the time... moving, moving, moving.

Hobbies:
Growling-He's got this growl he does when he is excited and happy.
Jumping/bouncing/dancing- call it what you want but when he gets where he's going and, of course while growling, he bounces.
Eating- He still likes to taste anything. Although, it's becoming a problem when he chooses to taste things he picks off the floor-cat hair, fuzz balls, leaves, grass ... not to mention actual food he's allergic to.
Moving, climbing, cruising-Again, he's everywhere; always looking for new places and spaces. He keeps me on my toes.

New Things:
TEETH! or rather one Tooth- Amelia didn't get teeth until after one so I fully expected it still being a few months, a couple weeks ago, his first popped through.
He is becoming more willing to stand on his own. I don't anticipate much more time before it's an all out run.
Although not new, he still is having allergy issues. Several instances of bad break outs/rashes and sensitive skin still plague him, which still doesn't help sleeping. *sigh* It's been frustrating and sometimes down right scary. Thankfully my mother has dealt with severe issues like this with my sister so it's been nice to have someone to talk me through stuff. And a trip to a pediatric allergist is in our future.

He can wear you out with his constant moving in the day and the never sleeping at night, but he'll stun you with his good looks and win you over with his sweetness. We love our boy. Excited to see him round the corner to one!
