a short vacation

We were able to spend a few days down south with James' grandparents this weekend. We had fun catching up, relaxing, playing outside, showing Amelia around, and, of course, eating. We so much enjoy visiting and what a blessing that Amelia gets to know her great-grandparents! she had so much fun! She also ate around the clock, including some ice cream. I feel so privileged to be apart of the family. We can't wait to go back down when it's warmer for boat rides and swimming!
Here's a few pictures ...

9 months

Can't believe Amelia is 9 months already! It really has gone by fast and how fun these months have been. It is so amazing how much they learn in this first year. Everyday there is something new... new foods, new gestures, new faces, new sounds, new moves. We are blessed to have such a good baby (who is quite cute, I might add). Yesterday, when I picked her up from the nursery at church, the guy that had her handed her off to me and whispered... "she makes me want another one." Looking forward to seeing what God has in store for all of us.

Here, she decided she wanted to help put the laundry away... not sure this is helping...

Almost there...

Only 10 more pounds to go...

Wow what a long, annoying journey... I will spare you the sad details but the short story is that I gained too much weight with Amelia and have had plenty of frustration trying to lose it all (diets, working my body too much, etc). It's frustrating when you have so much to lose. It's frustrating not knowing how to start. Frustrating to find motivation when results aren't happening. Frustrating it takes so long... I know, I know... it took 9 months to get like that, it is only fair to give myself at least that long to lose it all. I started with 40 pounds that I needed to lose, yes much more than I should, which is a very scary thought... (and I secretly blame Amelia) After the first 10 came off in the first 2 weeks after she was born, there was 30 left... I've lost 20lbs! I still am in disbelief that there was that much to begin with and I have always heard that the last 10 are the hardest... but I know longer need to think... just 10 more and then I'll only have X amount left.

Sigh... what a long annoying journey. But I can wear most of my old clothes, I feel much better about myself and my small accomplishment, and maybe next time... I'll better understand this process (and hopefully not have that much to lose).

I had to share. I'm getting excited...my new goal is by Amelia's birthday. We'll see...

Spring projects ...

Spring cleaning, kind of... more like spring change and reorganize. I feel like because we moved in right before the holidays, I just wanted to get things somewhere so we could get Christmas stuff up. But now (and for a little bit) I've been annoyed with myself for just shoving things wherever. So, this weekend we started going through things and finding a more appropriate place. In the process we are also painting, cleaning and trying to finish rooms up... 2 down, 2 to go. And now we finally have a grown-up study that is functional and not a junk pile. Looking forward to other improvements... and We will keep you posted!

Here's the new desk.

Easter!

We had a great weekend. James was off work on Good Friday and we had fun getting things done around the house and spending the day together.
Saturday evening we spent with the Humphrey side and watched final four games. Very excited to see a Butler win!
Sunday, after worshiping our Risen LORD, we spend much of the day with my family, including my aunt and cousins. We had an obscene amount of food, watched old videos, played in the wonderful sunshine... and oh, struggled with children to take much needed naps.

What a great weekend, spending time with family but much more, reflecting on our awesome God...

Oh praise the One who paid my debt and raised this life up from the dead.

Eph. 2:1-10... For I was dead ...BUT GOD! rich in mercy because of his great love, made us ALIVE IN CHRIST...

I love that 'but'.
